The original Triple Sec, since 1834
Founded in Saumur in 1834, Distillerie Combier is one of the oldest distilleries in the Loire Valley and the birthplace of the world's first Triple Sec. Created by Jean-Baptiste Combier in the back of his confectionery shop, L'Original Combier established a legacy of French liqueur-making that continues nearly two centuries later.
Still operating from its historic distillery in the heart of Saumur, Combier brings together tradition and creativity across a distinctive range of orange, fruit, floral and herbal liqueurs. From L'Original Triple Sec to historic recipes and contemporary creations, the house remains deeply connected to both French distilling heritage and modern cocktail culture.
